The Inversion Breaks at Sunrise

Mt. Bachelor's first light just gets through the freezing fog.

The freezing fog left large frost crystals that looks great with the bluebird sky.

Free Ski Day at Pine Mountain

I went over to Pine Mountain to shoot the Cascades from the east above the inversion. This might be the place to shoot the sunrise full moon set next week.

Great depth of field esp. in low light. In the next couple weeks Horse Butte's sunrise shadow will point right at the Sisters.

A Fortunate Sunrise and an Unfortunate Ponderosa

For a few breath taking moments the sun was able to slip under the clouds.

The unfortunate pondorosa

Uprooted snags still hanging on to rocks make interesting abstract sculpture.

While skinning back to drop in to the snowmobiles yesterday we watched a super nice sunset on Mt. Bachelor. I submitted it to their "Photo of the Week" page this morning for consideration, et voila. Thank you very much Mt. Bachelor!!! I'll be shooting in bounds tomorrow, we'll see what we get.

Coco and I shoot a Coyote Butte Sunset

Horse Butte

Coco came home with some great shots out of both the Canon and the Nikon. I felt lucky just to be there and the dogs had a good time too.
